Pedro Carneiro is performing on View from Olympus.

This Portugese percussionist is a rapidly rising star on the world circuit, having performed at many prestigious venues and festivals.

He has a strong commitment to John Psathas’ music, having premiered John's Psyzygysm in the 2002 NZ Festival, and subsequently including the piece in European concerts. Carneiro has recently commissioned a marimba concerto from John.

Michael Houstoun features on both the Piano Concerto & View From Olympus.

He is simply New Zealand’s most accomplished and revered pianist. Houstoun has a long-standing relationship with John Psathas, having previously recorded his Waiting for the Aeroplane and originally commissioning the Piano Concerto with the NZSO.

Joshua Redman is the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artist to have emerged in the last twenty years. Son of legendary saxophonist Dewey Redman and dancer Renee Shedroff, he was quickly signed by Warner Bros Records in 1993. Redman has also collaborated with Pat Methany, Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea, Quincy Jones, Lionel Hampton, Roy Haynes, Milt Jackson, Elvin Jones, Joe Lovano, Marcus Miller, and McCoy Tyner.

Joshua Redman is a NONESUCH Recording Artist

Having conducted in in Europe and North America, USA born Marc Taddei is an advocate of contemporary New Zealand composers.

He has engaged in genre-bending collaborations with pop/rock artists Goldenhorse and Bic Runga, as well as jazz luminaries such as Diana Krall and Bobby Shew .

Largely attributable for the recent rise and rise of the Christchurch Symphony in recent years Marc Taddei has just been appointed Director of the Welllington Sinfonia.
